When you're writing a series set in Bollywood, it only makes sense that real-life actors are going to float in and out of your consciousness. The closer I got to finishing Spice and Secrets, the more clearly I could see specific actors and actresses embodying the roles of my four principals.

Anushka Sharma as Priya Roy

Barun Sobti (Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon) is an expert at playing  the vulnerability and steely determination that Rahul needs. Anushka Sharma (Jab Tak Hain Jaan) looks sweet and darling but can play tough as nails.

Philip Winchester as Davey Shaw

         

Shenaz Treasuryvala as Sunita Khanna

 Philip Winchester (Strike Back), despite not actually being British, radiates Shaw's dry wit and arrogant smolder. Shenaz Treasury's Rama on OLTL was definitely an inspiration for brash but wounded Sunny.
