I tried to balance out my steady diet of historical romance with some contemporaries and thrillers in July and ended up finishing 21 books total. I might finally be hitting my saturation point for the year, because I don't have the wherewithal to write up a whole intro. Let's head right to the round-up!
The Reading Rundown
Well Bred by Adriana Anders (erotic romance, contemporary romance)
Only For the Week by Natasha Bishop (contemporary romance)
Change of Heart by Kate Canterbary (contemporary romance)
Do Your Worst by Rosie Danan (contemporary romance)
Everyone Who Can Forgive Me is Dead by Jenny Hollander (suspense, thriller)
My Deceitful Duchess by Aydra Richards (historical romance)
Follow Her Down by Victoria Helen Stone (suspense, thriller)
Get Thee Off My Lawn by Daria Vernon (historical romance, novella)
Backlist titles & rereads: I got A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness from the library after watching the adaptation on AMC+ and followed it with JL Seegars' contemporary KU romance, Restore Me. I celebrated Romancelandia's annual Jenkins July with Beverly Jenkins' The Taming of Jessi Rose. I reread an old fave, Written on Your Skin by Meredith Duran, and then picked up His Improper Proposal and The Lady Unmasked by new find Aydra Richards. Counting on a Countess by Eva Leigh was on sale for Kindle so I inhaled that, and then had to reread my paperback of Dare to Love a Duke. I was extremely late to the Mindf*ck game—because dark romance can be hit or miss—but S.T. Abby's gory and violent five-book series proved compulsively readable and I finished it in one weekend. Definitely not for the faint of heart!
Currently reading: Someone to Watch Over Me by Judith McNaught.
